This course covers the USDA Single-Family Housing Guaranteed Loan Program, and details advantages, process, and eligibility features of the program. After completing this course, students will be able to identify unique USDA Guaranteed loan program components as they relate to borrower, income, asset and property eligibility. Students will be able to distinguish the advantages and limitations of the USDA loan program when compared to other loan programs. Students will also be able to recognize trigger words and phrases from prospective buyers that will allow them to assess if these prospective buyers will be suitable potential candidates or not for this loan program.

Mark Pagomenakis
Mark Pagomenakis is an experienced mortgage professional with almost two decades of experience in a variety of finance roles. Mark began his career in banking and finance in 2001 as a retail bank associate for Atlantic States Bank (now First Citizens Bank); within six months he had been promoted to Branch Manager of a small branch, and within 18 months was promoted to Branch Manager of the largest branch in the company, eventually being promoted to the Business Banking division. During his time at Atlantic States Bank, Mark became proficient in originating consumer loans, home mortgages/equity lines of credit and commercial real estate financing. In 2006 Mark founded First Covenant Financial specializing in origination, processing and funding of commercial and residential mortgages; during this time Mark became gained much experience analyzing business and personal tax returns, financial statements, and finding financing solutions in an ever-increasingly difficult economic environment. In 2010 Mark joined First Georgia Banking Company as a residential loan originator and was regularly acknowledged as the highest-producing mortgage originator in the company. In 2011 Mark was hired by Cole Taylor Bank as a Branch Manager to establish the first mortgage office in Georgia for this company; in 2013 Cole Taylor Bank was acquired by MB Financial Bank. During his tenure, Mark’s branch was regularly recognized as a “Top 10” performer, originating over 1,100 loans during that time. In October 2017, Mark and his team transitioned to Goldwater Bank and he currently manages two branches in the metro-Atlanta area, in Carrollton and Tucker. Mark holds a Bachelor’s degree in History, and a Master’s degree in Accounting & Finance.
