At Home With Diversity (AHWD) is an educational opportunity designed to present a picture of the changing face of the real estate industry to real estate brokers, agents, association executives, and anyone associated with the industry. The class teaches real estate professionals how they can increase their sensitivity and adaptability to future market trends. It addresses issues of diversity, fair housing, and cultural differences. Participants will learn practical skills and tools to expand business and effectively service all cultural groups. This class satisfies one of the Core Standards requirements under Section 3 - Consumer Outreach. The At Home With Diversity Course teaches REALTORS how to: Assess and understand attributes of diversity in local markets and their impact on the real estate industry Understand basic competencies to earn the confidence of potential buyers and sellers, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, handicaps, familial status, or national origin Build a business plan that minimizes risk and successfully services all types of clients GREC Policy: If you have taken this course in the last 366 days, you will not receive CE credit. Miller Sharon Miller is from Gainesville, Florida (Home of the Gators) and she’s a graduate of St. Leo University. She has been a REALTOR® since 1998. Sharon was a full-time soldier in the US Army retiring as an E-7 Sergeant First Class, where she was a logistician/supply SGT while on active duty. Sharon was past Chairman of Equal Opportunity/Cultural Diversity Committee, By Laws, Rules and Regulations Committee, Education Committee, Global Alliance, C/E Training, and the Savannah Board of REALTORS® Institute. Sharon was also the 2009 President of the Savannah Multi-List Corporation. Sharon is currently an agent with ERA Southeast Coastal Real Estate. Sharon instructs a Pre-License Course, Brokers Pre-License, 25-hour Post-License and Continuing Education courses. Sharon received the “Rising Star” Award from the Georgia Real Estate Educators Association in 2007. She is a continuing member of the Distinguished Sales Society and has two children. In addition, Sharon’s designations and certifications include ABR, RLI, and At Home with Diversity.
