At Home With Diversity (AHWD) is an educational opportunity designed to present a picture of the changing face of the real estate industry to real estate brokers, agents, association executives, and anyone associated with the industry. The class teaches real estate professionals how they can increase their sensitivity and adaptability to future market trends. It addresses issues of diversity, fair housing, and cultural differences. Participants will learn practical skills and tools to expand business and effectively service all cultural groups. This class satisfies one of the Core Standards requirements under Section 3 - Consumer Outreach. The At Home With Diversity Course teaches REALTORS how to: Assess and understand attributes of diversity in local markets and their impact on the real estate industry Understand basic competencies to earn the confidence of potential buyers and sellers, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, handicaps, familial status, or national origin Build a business plan that minimizes risk and successfully services all types of clients AHWD Certification information GAR Scholarship Information. Miller Sharon Miller is from Gainesville, FL, the proud home of the Gators! After a distinguished career in the United States Army, she retired as a Sergeant First Class/E-7. In 1998, Sharon earned her real estate license and her passion for the field led her to become a real estate educator in 2007. She now teaches a variety of courses, including Pre-license, Post-license, Continuing Education, Broker's Responsibilities and four certification classes. Sharon's dedication and expertise have earned her numerous accolades, including the Instructor Rising Star Award, the Kanter Real Estate Hall of Fame, Savannah Area Realtor of the Year 2023, TAP Academy Instructor of the Year 2023. All the while, she continues to achieve being a Member of Distinguished Sales Society. Her most recent achievement is being named the Georgia Real Estate Educators Association Educator of the Year 2024. Sharon firmly believes in integrity and often quotes, "it is said that a man's ability to succeed is limited only by his opportunities."
