(You are required to enable video so that we can monitor attendance.) You need to set up a free Zoom account (https://zoom.us/) prior to the class. (Your free 40-minute account will allow you easy access to our ZOOM Classroom account.) You are expected to attend the entire class session (except during breaks) just as if you were sitting in a classroom. After the class, you will be emailed electronic affidavit and class evaluation links. To receive CE credit, you must complete both. A link to participate in the class and student materials will be sent to registered students the business day before the class. Class Description Developed in partnership with NAR’s REALTOR Safety program, this three-hour course is an essential primer on how real estate professionals can limit risk to preserve safety - their safety, their clients’ safety - and for positive business outcomes. Students will learn how to assess risk in their current practice and create safety systems, scripts, and tools for listing appointments, showing property, and conducting open houses. Students will also learn how to protect personal and electronic information online, in the cloud, and on social networks. As a practical resource, this course offers easy-to-remember strategies for real estate professionals when facing potentially dangerous situations. Map & Directions Ken Malcom Ken Malcom, MS, is more than a 30-year veteran of police work and the founder of Personal Security Consultants. He graduated from Troy University with a Master’s of Science in Criminal Justice. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy and Clayton Regional Police Academy. Ken was awarded the 2003 National D.A.R.E. Officer of the Year. Ken Malcom is also an adjunct professor for Georgia State University. Ken teaches safety and drug prevention courses statewide including continuing education and convention courses for GAR. He was selected as the 2006, 2007, and 2016 Instructor of the Year by the GAR Partners in Education program. Note: GAR reserves the right to cancel/change any course at any time.
